  • The Ministry of the Environment advises Portuguese Man of War (PMOW) are present on Horseshoe Bay on the south shore. Take extreme care in or near the ocean when PMOW are present. PMOW can be identified by a blue-violet coloured, gas filled float on top of the water. Its long tentacles can be difficult to see below the water's surface and cause very painful stings. Do not touch a PMOW even if on shore as the tentacles remain venomous.
