Ministry of Public Works - Road Closure Advisory

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform the public that the ongoing embankment repair works on Harbour Road in the vicinity of Burnt House Hill and Tamarind Vale will be extended into 21st March, 2021.

The lane closure will be extended through to Sunday – 21st March, 2021.  Working hours will continue from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm week days.

Traffic controls will be under direction of the Ministry of Public Works representatives and will be managed through traffic control signals & signage.

Ministry of Public Works Regarding Southlands Park in Warwick

Today, the Ministry of Public Works provided the following regarding Southlands Park in Warwick.

The public will be aware that recently the Department of Parks invited feedback regarding the offering of amenities, activities and experiences at Southlands Park. The Ministry took this opportunity to remind the public that the Southlands consultation process welcomes and encourages open dialogue.

Ministry of Public Works - The MarketPlace Christmas Parade Advisory

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the MarketPlace Ltd. will be holding a Christmas Parade from the MarketPlace in Shelly Bay on North Shore Road, Hamilton Parish to the MarketPlace in Heron Bay, Middle Road, Southampton.

The Christmas Parade is to take place on Sunday, November 29th, 2020 from 5:00 pm until approximately 7:30 pm. It will consist of up to 20 vehicles that will travel as a procession under escort from the Bermuda Police Service.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid the Christmas Parade.

Illegal Dumpers to Face Prosecution

The Ministry of Public Works’ Department of Parks wishes to advise the public that persons found to be illegally dumping will face prosecution under the Waste and Litter Control Act 1987 and its amendments. 

Recently, the Ministry discovered that despite repeated requests, members of the public continue to illegally dump waste at parks, beaches, and especially public docks and bus stops. As such, it is apparent that despite the many pleas to responsibly dispose of their waste, there are some in the community who refuse to do so.

Ministry of Public Works - Weekend Road Work and Repair Advisory

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the ongoing Harrington Sound Road, Hamilton Parish trench work will require a one day road closure. This trench work will commence west of Paynter’s Road to Old Post Office building. The trench work will affect both lanes.

This road closure will take place during Sunday, July 19th, 2020 only and on Monday the one lane closure will continue as before. Working hours will be from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
