Coronavirus Vaccines Available at the Hamilton Health Clinic

Starting November 14th, the Pfizer-BioNTech original Adult formulation, and Moderna Bivalent coronavirus vaccines are available at the Hamilton Health Clinic, #3 Reid Street, every Tuesday from 9 am –  2 pm.

These vaccinations are for those persons who are uninsured or insured with HIP or FutureCare, and by appointment only, with no walk-ins. Call 278-6470 for assistance in scheduling an appointment.

Ministry of Health Throne Speech 2022 Initiatives

Good afternoon.

The health and well-being of the people of Bermuda remain a priority for this Government.

In this year’s Throne Speech, we have outlined some key initiatives that will provide more significant support to our citizens.

With modern technology, we will better deliver expert care for Bermuda. With that in mind, the professional registration process for health professionals will be streamlined as the Bermuda Health Council transfers its systems to a blockchain-enabled online platform.

Coronavirus Update 2 November 2022

“Sadly, there was another coronavirus-related death since our last update,” said Minister of Health, Kim Wilson. “I extend my heartfelt condolences and prayers to the family and loved ones of the deceased.”

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 3356 test results, and 88 were positive for the coronavirus.

National Mammography Day - October 21, 2022

Breast Cancer Awareness month is every October, and today, October 21st is National Mammography Day.

The Minister of Health, the Hon. Kim Wilson, JP, MP, shares the following message about the significance of mammography.

“Today serves as a reminder of the importance of healthy breasts and the impact of breast cancer.Breast cancer is the second most common cause of death from cancer in women worldwide. In Bermuda, it is the number one diagnosed cancer in women.

Coronavirus Update 19 October 2022

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 2,648 test results, and 60 were positive for the coronavirus.

These results are from testing done on:

•        Tuesday: 6 positive out of 466 results (1.3% positivity)

•        Wednesday:  12 positive out of  355 results (3.4% positivity)

•        Thursday: 12 positive out of 358 results (3.4% positivity)

•        Friday: 8 positive out of 512 results (1.6% positivity)

•        Saturday: 4 positive out of 233 results (1.7% positivity)

Next Steps for Universal Health Coverage

Mr Speaker and Honourable Members, last year the Government of Bermuda took the first steps towards delivering on its promise to implement universal health coverage for all residents.

Coronavirus Update 5 October 2022

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 2916 test results, and 66 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 2%.

These results are from testing done on: 

§  Tuesday: 10 positive out of 499 results (2.0% positivity) 

§  Wednesday:  19 positive out of  508 results (3.7% positivity) 

§  Thursday: 8 positive out of 497 results (1.6% positivity) 

§  Friday: 10 positive out of 474 results (2.1% positivity) 

§  Saturday: 5 positive out of 179 results (2.8% positivity) 

Bermuda Withstands CAT 4 Hurricane Fiona

With the passage of Hurricane Fiona, and following an Emergency Measures Organisation (EMO) meeting earlier this afternoon, the Minister of National Security, Michael Weeks provided the following.
Minister Weeks said, “By all accounts, we had a very long night and some very tense moments during the early morning hours. But in true Bermuda resilience fashion, we withstood the effects of Hurricane Fiona and thankfully, there was no loss of life or serious injuries.
