Like everyone else on the island, I was looking forward to Cup Match between Somerset and St George’s this year. It would have been my final Cup Match game in Bermuda during my term in office as Governor. In each of the last three years I have hugely enjoyed watching the game and experiencing the camaraderie and fun of all the spectators around the ground. It was an honour for me to meet the players and, at the end of hard fought matches, to present the Cup to the winning team. 2020 will be remembered as the year of change. We have been through shelter-in-place, alphabet shopping and curfews. As a community we determined early to learn from the mistakes made elsewhere and shield our most vulnerable and comply with public health advice designed to ensure that we protected Bermuda against COVID-19.
But the change that 2020 has brought cannot and will not deprive Bermuda of the Cup Match spirit.

We will start our press conference this evening with remarks for the Minister of Health, on the latest update regarding the coronavirus pandemic. Minister of Health.

Today there were 555 test results received by the Ministry of Health; and 2 were positive for COVID-19. Both new cases were imported on the Delta flight from Atlanta on 27th July 2020.
Bermuda now has 156 total confirmed positive cases. Their status is as follows:
The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo (BAMZ) regrets to inform the public that visiting camp groups cannot be accommodated this summer, for public health reasons.
Indoor and outdoor spaces at BAMZ make it very hard for large groups to maintain the required physical distancing from other groups, particularly in the aquarium hall and playground.
Therefore, only parties under ten people will be accepted at any one time and they must all be members of the same household.

Today there were 663 test results received by the Ministry of Health, and one was positive for COVID-19. The new case was imported on yesterday's Delta flight; the case is a resident without a pre-departure test. Isolation and contact tracing has begun.
