Mpox Vaccine Interest Form is Now Available

“The Ministry of Health is considering vaccinating individuals at higher risk of Mpox exposure,” announced Minister of Health, Kim Wilson, JP, MP. “To gauge community interest, we have created an optional survey interest form. Starting today and for the next two weeks, Bermuda residents can complete the interest form for the Mpox vaccine, JYNNEOS, by visiting https://forms.gov.bm/MPoxSurvey/

Ministry of Health hosted Bermuda’s Polio Outbreak Simulation Exercise

Recently (January 10), the Ministry of Health hosted Bermuda’s Polio Outbreak Simulation Exercise, bringing stakeholders from across the health sector to review the Bermuda Polio Outbreak Preparedness and Response Plan.

“Bermuda has an excellent track record in polio control. We are largely protected as we have high rates of polio vaccinations, a longstanding polio surveillance system and have been polio-free since 1970,” said Chief Medical Officer, Dr Ayo Oyinloye.

Coronavirus Vaccines Available at the Hamilton Health Clinic

Starting November 14th, the Pfizer-BioNTech original Adult formulation, and Moderna Bivalent coronavirus vaccines are available at the Hamilton Health Clinic, #3 Reid Street, every Tuesday from 9 am –  2 pm.

These vaccinations are for those persons who are uninsured or insured with HIP or FutureCare, and by appointment only, with no walk-ins. Call 278-6470 for assistance in scheduling an appointment.

COVID-19 Vaccine Update

The Ministry of Health is reminding residents that the Pfizer-BioNTech original Adult formulation, Moderna Bivalent and Pfizer-BioNTech paediatric coronavirus vaccine and boosters are available throughparticipating GP offices, Pharmacies and Pediatricians.

Minister of Health, Kim Wilson, JP, MP, said, “Our positive case numbers remain low; however, getting vaccinated has many benefits. You can avoid getting seriously ill and being hospitalised. This is especially important if new variants emerge.

Coronavirus Update 14 September 2022

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 7334 test results, and 58 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 1%.

These results are from testing done on:

·Tuesday: 4 positive out of 695 results (0.6% positivity)

·Wednesday:  10 positive out of  616 results (1.6% positivity)

·Thursday: 8 positive out of 392 results (2.0% positivity)

·Friday: 6 positive out of 1872 results (0.3% positivity)

·Saturday: 7 positive out of 1875 results (0.4% positivity)

Coronavirus Update 7 September 2022

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 4574 test results, and 106 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 2%.

These results are from testing done on:

1.       Tuesday: 13 positive out of 957 results (1.4% positivity)

2.       Wednesday:  24 positive out of  892 results (2.7% positivity)

3.       Thursday: 9 positive out of 574 results (1.6% positivity)

4.       Friday: 15 positive out of 561 results (2.7% positivity)

5.       Saturday: 12 positive out of 288 results (4.2% positivity)

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 10069 test results, and 345 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 3.0%.

These results are from testing done on:

·Tuesday: 57 positive out of 1639 results (3.5% positivity)

·Wednesday:  52 positive out of  1515 results (3.4% positivity)

·Thursday: 37 positive out of 1726 results (2.1% positivity)

·Friday: 60 positive out of 1713 results (3.5% positivity)

·Saturday: 39 positive out of 838 results (4.7% positivity)
