COVID-19 Update Minister of Health’s Remarks 16 March 2021

Good afternoon.

There were 440 test results received by the Ministry of Health since the last update, and two were positive for COVID-19. These two (2) new cases are classified as local transmission with known contact as they are associated with known cases.

Additionally, since the last update, there was one (1) recovery.

There are currently 30 active cases, of which;

·         All 30 are under public health monitoring and;

·         None are in the hospital.

Vaccine Walk-ins at Bermuda College Vaccination Centre

The Bermuda College vaccination centre is today still continuing to accept walk-ins for those persons aged 65 years and older who are unable to register for the vaccination on line.  In addition, we are also today accepting walk-ins for those persons aged 50 or older. However, again, please note that priority will be given to those aged 65 and older. Walk-in appointments are from 3 pm to 6:45 pm today and tomorrow, 12 March 2020. Bermuda College will not accept walk-ins on Saturday.

The Bermuda College vaccination centre will accept walk-ins

The Ministry of Health will be piloting a walk-in vaccination service starting tomorrow (10 March). The Bermuda College vaccination centre will accept walk-ins for those persons 65 or older from 3 pm to 6:45 pm until Tuesday, 16 March. The last walk-in vaccination on any day will be at 6:45 pm. Anyone at the vaccination centre after 6:45 pm will be given an appointment for the next available opening on the schedule.

COVID-19 Daily Release 8 March 2021

Good day.

The Ministry of Health received 1604 test results since the last update, and two (2) were positive for COVID-19. These two new cases are classified as under investigation. They are among residents with no currently identified link to other known cases or history of travel in the past 14 days.

Additionally, since the last update, there were two recoveries.

There are currently 22 active cases, of which;

· All 22 are under public health monitoring and;

· None are in the hospital.

Ministerial Statement: A Progress Report on the COVID-19 Vaccine for Bermuda

Mr Speaker

I rise today to provide this Honourable House a progress report on the rollout of COVID-19 vaccination programme in Bermuda.

As we are all aware, COVID-19 continues as a public health emergency for Bermuda and the rest of the world. In response to this deadly pandemic, research and trials of new vaccines were accelerated through 2020, and continue at a fast pace into 2021.

Good Evening Bermuda,

Tonight I am joined by the Minister of Health, The Hon. Kim Wilson who will provide updates on the latest vaccination statistics, the recent increase in positive COVID-19 cases, and further updates from her Ministry.

I am thankful to have Dr. Carika Weldon is here to discuss the efforts being done by her team at the Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory to map which variants we have seen in Bermuda. 

Following the Minister and Dr. Weldon, I will provide you with an update on the COVID-19 regulations agreed today by the Cabinet and other matters.

Good day.

The Ministry of Health received 1385 test results since the last update, and six were positive for COVID-19. Five (5) of the new cases are classified as local transmission with known contact as they are associated with known cases. The additional new case is classified as under investigation. This case is a resident with no currently identified link to other known cases or a history of travel in the past 14 days.

Additionally, since the last update, there were no recoveries.

There are currently 19 active cases, of which;

Minister of Health COVID-19 Update Remarks 23 February

Good afternoon.

There were 240 test results received by the Ministry of Health since the last update and none were positive for COVID-19. 

There were no recoveries.

Bermuda has 703 total confirmed positive cases. Their status is as follows.

There are 10 active cases, of which

· 9 are under public health monitoring and

· 1 is in hospital with none in critical care;

·  a total of 681 have recovered, and

·  the total deceased remains at 12.

COVID-19 Daily Release 17 February 2021

Good day.

The Ministry of Health received 543 test results since the last update, and two were positive for COVID-19. One of the new cases is a resident who arrived on BA 2233 from London on 11 February and tested positive on their day 4 test. The second new case is a non-resident who arrived on Jet Blue B62231 from New York on 6 February and tested positive on their day 8 test

Additionally, since the last update, there were no recoveries.

There are currently six active cases, of which;
