COVID-19 Update 27 January 2022

“Since our update on Monday, Bermuda has another two coronavirus related deaths,” said Minister of Health, Kim Wilson, JP, MP.

“I extend sincere condolences to the family and friends who recently lost a loved one to circumstances related to this coronavirus. You are in our thoughts and prayers.”

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 4174 test results, and 290 were positive for the coronavirus.

COVID-19 Update 24 January 2022

Today we are reporting another two coronavirus related deaths”, said Minister of Health, Kim Wilson, JP, MP. “I extend heartfelt condolences to their families and friends, and I am praying for those currently in hospital with coronavirus related illnesses. I sincerely hope that they all recover soon.”

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 7344 test results, and 496 were positive for the coronavirus.

These results are from testing done on:

§  Wednesday: 145 positive out of 1861 results (7.8% positivity)

COVID-19 Update 20 January 2022

“I am saddened to report two coronavirus related deaths since our last update,” said Minister of Health, Kim Wilson, JP, MP. “I extend my sincere condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of the deceased.”

 

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 8187 test results, and 622 were positive for the coronavirus.

These results are from testing done on:

§  Friday: 179 positive out of 2300 results (7.8% positivity)

§  Saturday: 57 positive out of 1664 results (3.4% positivity)

COVID-19 Update 17 January 2022

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 6035 test results, and 603 were positive for COVID-19.

These results are from testing done on:

§  Tuesday: 225 positive out of 1945 results (11.6% positivity)

§  Wednesday: 222 positive out of 2281 results (9.7% positivity)

§  Thursday: 156 positive out of 2034 results (7.7% positivity)

107 of the new cases are classified as imported with a history of travel in the previous 14 days.

The additional 496 new cases are classified as either local transmission (56) or under investigation (440).

COVID-19 Update 10 January 2022

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 7,125 test results, and 689 were positive for the coronavirus.

These results are from testing done on:

§  Tuesday: 204 positive out of 2372 results (8.6% positivity)

§  Wednesday: 243 positive out of 2305 results (10.5% positivity)

§  Thursday: 242 positive out of 2448 results (9.9% positivity)

189 of the new cases are classified as imported with a history of travel in the previous 14 days.

Flu Express on Saturday, December 18th 2021

The Ministry of Health is holding an additional Flu Express on Saturday, December 18th 2021, from 9am – 2 pm at the National Stadium Pavilion.

The Flu Express is $15.00 per shot (for both adults and children). Persons over the age of 65 will receive the seasonal flu vaccine free of charge.

Minister of Health, Kim Wilson, JP, MP, said, “The flu vaccine is a safe and highly effective method of preventing most cases of flu. Side effects are rare and usually mild.

December 1st Flu Express Postponed

The Flu Express, which was to take place tomorrow (December 1st) at the National Stadium Pavilion, has been postponed until Friday, December 3rd at National Stadium Pavilion.

The seasonal influenza (flu) vaccine will be available for priority groups through their doctor or the Flu Express at the cost of $15.00 per shot (for both adults and children). Persons over the age of 65 years will receive the seasonal flu vaccine free of charge.

COVID-19 Update 25 November 2021

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 4528 test results, and six were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 0.1%.

These results are from testing done on:

·Sunday: 3 positive out of 1592 results (0.2% positivity)

·Monday: 0 positive out of 1679 results (0.0% positivity)

·Tuesday: 3 positive out of 1257 results (0.2% positivity)

Three of the new cases are classified as imported with a history of travel in the previous 14 days.

COVID-19 Technical Briefing Minister of Health's Remarks 15 September 2021

Good afternoon.

I begin my remarks today by offering sincere condolences to those who recently lost a family member, a friend, a neighbour or a colleague in circumstances related to the coronavirus.

And I ask everyone to keep in your prayers those persons currently in hospital with COVID-19 related illness.

The Ministry of Health received 2949 test results since the last update, and 150 were positive for COVID-19. This gives a test positivity rate of 5.1%.
