COVID-19 Update 25 November 2021

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 4528 test results, and six were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 0.1%.

These results are from testing done on:

·Sunday: 3 positive out of 1592 results (0.2% positivity)

·Monday: 0 positive out of 1679 results (0.0% positivity)

·Tuesday: 3 positive out of 1257 results (0.2% positivity)

Three of the new cases are classified as imported with a history of travel in the previous 14 days.

COVID-19 Update 22 November 2021

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 5,606 test results and 9 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 0.2%. 

These results are from testing done on:

  • Thursday: 8 positive out of 2,192 results (0.4% positivity)
  • Friday: 0 positive out of 1,985 results (0.0% positivity)
  • Saturday: 1 positive out of 1,429 results (0.1% positivity)

Six (6) of the new cases are classified as imported with history of travel in the previous 14 days.

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 4592 test results, and 5 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 0.1%.

These results are from testing done on:

•        Thursday: 0 positive out of 1516 results (0.0% positivity)

•        Friday: 4 positive out of 1711 results (0.2% positivity)

•        Saturday: 1 positive out of 1365 results (0.1% positivity)

3 of the new cases are classified as imported with history of travel in the previous 14 days.

Minister of Health Remarks - Throne Speech 2021

In this year’s Throne Speech, the Government of Bermuda has reaffirmed its intention to implement universal health coverage for all residents.

Our vision for healthcare seeks to ensure that - 

“all people have equitable access to needed informative, preventive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative essential health services, of sufficient quality to be effective, while also ensuring that people do not suffer financial hardship when paying for these services and critical medicines.”

"Sadly, Bermuda has recorded another two coronavirus related deaths,” said the Minister of Health, the Hon. Kim Wilson, JP, MP. “I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased."

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 5022 test results, and 13 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 0.3%.

These results are from testing done on:

•        Thursday: 8 positive out of 1753 results (0.5% positivity)

•        Friday: 2 positive out of 1837 results (0.1% positivity)

Coronavirus Update – 11 October, 2021

“Bermuda has recorded three more coronavirus related deaths. I extend my sincere condolences to the family and friends who have recently lost their loved one,” said the Minister of Health, the Hon. Kim Wilson, JP, MP.

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 5141 test results, and 35 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 0.7%.

I am saddened to begin my remarks today with condolences to more families in our Bermuda community who have recently lost loved ones to the coronavirus. My heart goes out to all those who are grieving at this time.

COVID-19 Briefing Minister of Health’s Remarks 6 October 2021

Good afternoon.

I begin my remarks today by offering heartfelt condolences to the friends and families of those mourning the loss of a loved one to circumstances related to the coronavirus in recent weeks. You remain in my thoughts and prayers.

It does appear that our numbers are trending in the right direction, and our active cases are decreasing. I want to thank everyone for doing their part and making an effort to stop the spread of this aggressive Delta Variant.

COVID-19 Update 4 October 2021

“Sadly, today I report that since our last update, Bermuda experienced seven more coronavirus-related deaths,” said Minister of Health, Kim Wilson, JP, MP. “I extend sincere condolences to the families and friends who lost a loved one over this weekend.”

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 5798 test results, and 83 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 1.4%.
