World Occupational Therapy Day celebrated in Bermuda

October 27 is World Occupational Therapy Day and this year’s theme is ‘inform, inspire, influence’. Occupational therapists (OTs) work with all age groups and in a wide range of physical and psychosocial areas. OTs assess and plan short and long term treatments tailored to an individual and his or her occupation, habits and environment. They are employed by Bermuda Hospitals Board at KEMH and MWI, by the Department of Health and in private practice. 

Health Insurance Department Streamlines its Processes Re the Personal Home Care Benefit

The Health Insurance Department (HID) is pleased to advise the public that they have made several changes which will simplify the claims process relating to the Personal Home Care Benefit.

The Personal Home Care Benefit (PHC) was introduced in 2015 as a HIP and FutureCare benefit under the Health Insurance Act 1970.  The Benefit assists FutureCare and HIP policyholders with the costs of personal care services in their home.

The Ministry of Health and Seniors announces that two advisors from the Pan American Health Organization / World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) based in Washington, DC are on the island from 3 - 7 April, to support public health preparedness in advance of the America's Cup event. The two experts, Dr Roberta Andraghetti and Dr Marion Bullock DuCasse, are experienced public health practitioners specializing in infection prevention and control, compliance with International Health Regulations and management of mass gatherings.
