Coronavirus Vaccines Available at the Hamilton Health Clinic

Starting November 14th, the Pfizer-BioNTech original Adult formulation, and Moderna Bivalent coronavirus vaccines are available at the Hamilton Health Clinic, #3 Reid Street, every Tuesday from 9 am –  2 pm.

These vaccinations are for those persons who are uninsured or insured with HIP or FutureCare, and by appointment only, with no walk-ins. Call 278-6470 for assistance in scheduling an appointment.

Coronavirus Update 2 November 2022

“Sadly, there was another coronavirus-related death since our last update,” said Minister of Health, Kim Wilson. “I extend my heartfelt condolences and prayers to the family and loved ones of the deceased.”

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 3356 test results, and 88 were positive for the coronavirus.

Government House Statement

Government House can advise that Her Excellency the Governor has tested positive for COVID-19. The Governor will continue to work remotely but will not be attending any in-person events or meetings until she receives a negative test result. 

Under Section 19A of the Constitution, the Governor has authorised the Deputy Governor, Mr Tom Oppenheim, to attend the Convening of the Legislature scheduled for Friday 4 November 2022 and to read the Throne Speech on her behalf. 

Coronavirus Update 19 October 2022

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 2,648 test results, and 60 were positive for the coronavirus.

These results are from testing done on:

•        Tuesday: 6 positive out of 466 results (1.3% positivity)

•        Wednesday:  12 positive out of  355 results (3.4% positivity)

•        Thursday: 12 positive out of 358 results (3.4% positivity)

•        Friday: 8 positive out of 512 results (1.6% positivity)

•        Saturday: 4 positive out of 233 results (1.7% positivity)

Cruise Ship Season 2022 Update - Minister of Transport's Remarks

Good Morning.

You may have heard me often say that there is no tourism without transport, and it is in that context in which Bermuda has welcomed 310,587 cruise passengers to our shores this season, with an approximate economic impact of $131.5M. This is an increase of $28.2M in economic activity since the original projections at the beginning of the year. As of 5 October, there are 39 more calls in the fourth quarter period estimated to bring a further 63,778 passengers to Bermuda by the end of the year. To date, we have received 127 cruise calls.

World Mental Health Day

Today, countries globally will be observing World Mental Health Day (WMHD).

Here at home, as we work on moving beyond the pandemic, the Minister of Health, the Hon. Kim Wilson shared a World Health Day message for the community.

“Without question, COVID-19 has had a more significant impact on our mental health,” Minister Wilson said, 

“In Bermuda, many client presentations to Community Mental Health Services have been related to the pandemic, with anxiety or depression due to job loss or economic instability a factor.

Coronavirus Update 5 October 2022

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 2916 test results, and 66 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 2%.

These results are from testing done on: 

§  Tuesday: 10 positive out of 499 results (2.0% positivity) 

§  Wednesday:  19 positive out of  508 results (3.7% positivity) 

§  Thursday: 8 positive out of 497 results (1.6% positivity) 

§  Friday: 10 positive out of 474 results (2.1% positivity) 

§  Saturday: 5 positive out of 179 results (2.8% positivity)

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 2701 test results, and 32 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 1%.
