Coronavirus Update 25 May 2022

“Sadly, Bermuda had another coronavirus-related death since our last update on May 18,” said Minister of Health, Kim Wilson. “I extend my condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.”

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 9800 test results, and 313 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 3.0%.

These results are from testing done on:

•        Tuesday: 47 positive out of 1621 results (2.9% positivity)

•        Wednesday:  40 positive out of  1350 results (3.0% positivity)

Coronavirus Update 18 May 2022

“I am sad to report that we had two coronavirus-related deaths since our last update on May 11,” said Minister of Health, Kim Wilson. “I extend my condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.”

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 9183 test results, and 307 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 3.3%.

These results are from testing done on:

•        Tuesday: 58 positive out of 1494 results (3.9% positivity)

•        Wednesday:  33 positive out of  1286 results (2.6% positivity)

Coronavirus Update 11 May 2022

“I am saddened to report that we have had another coronavirus related death since our last update,” said Acting Minister of Health, the Hon Walter Roban. “I extend condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.”

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 8805 test results, and 303 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 3.4%.

These results are from testing done on:

·Tuesday: 46 positive out of 1266 results (3.6% positivity)

·Wednesday:  34 positive out of  1316 results (2.6% positivity)

Coronavirus Update 4 May 2022

“I am sad to report that we had three coronavirus-related deaths since our last update on April 27th,” said Minister of Health, Kim Wilson. “I am sorry for these losses and extend my condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.”

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 8859 test results, and 344 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 4.0%.

These results are from testing done on:

·Tuesday: 71 positive out of 1466 results (4.8% positivity)

·Wednesday:  53 positive out of  1335 results (4.0% positivity)

Coronavirus Update 13 April 2022

“I am saddened to report that we had two more coronavirus-related deaths since our update last Wednesday,” said Minister of Health, Kim Wilson, JP, MP. “I extend sincere condolences to the families of the deceased.”

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 9924 test results, and 190 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 2.0%.

These results are from testing done from Tuesday 5 April through Monday 11 April:

Good afternoon.

I begin my remarks today with the sad news that Bermuda has recorded another coronavirus related death since our last update. I extend my sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

This unhappy news reinforces for all of us that, unfortunately, the pandemic is still with us – and will be with us for a long time, both locally and globally.

Coronavirus Update 31 March 2022

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 4104 test results, and 108 were positive for the coronavirus.

These results are from testing done on:

·Sunday: 17 positive out of 973 results (1.7% positivity)

·Monday: 57 positive out of 1613 results (3.5% positivity)

·Tuesday: 34 positive out of 1518 results (2.2% positivity)

Coronavirus Update 28 March 2022

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 4929 test results, and 102 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 2.0%.

These results are from testing done on:

·Wednesday:  35 positive out of  1602 results (1.9% positivity)

·Thursday: 26 positive out of 1543 results (2.5% positivity)

·Friday: 17 positive out of 906 results (3.5% positivity)

·Saturday: 24 positive out of 878 results (3.7% positivity)

11 of the new cases are classified as imported with a history of travel in the previous 14 days.
