The Cabinet Committee on the Reopening Strategy for Bermuda has made several recommendations to transition to Phase 3. I can confirm that we will move to Phase 3 at 6 am on Thursday, 11th June 2020.
In accordance with the originally proposed phases, the Committee recommends that Phase 3 will provide for the following:

Yesterday was a powerful moment for Bermuda. Thousands took to the streets to show solidarity and support for the Black Lives Matter movement, while demanding justice, and elimination of racism in Bermuda.

The Minister of Finance, the Hon. Curtis L Dickinson, JP, MP, today announced that credit rating agency Moody's Investors Service (Moody’s) has affirmed Bermuda's A2 issuer and senior unsecured bond ratings. The outlook remains stable.

Mr. Speaker, Honourable Members are advised that on Monday, March 23, 2020 and on Friday, May 22, 2020, the Ministry of Finance successfully executed a BD$20,000,000 and a US$150,000,000 Credit Facility, respectively. Therefore, in accordance with Section 2 (3) of the Government Loans Act 1978, I rise this morning to inform this Honourable House of the execution of these borrowing transactions pursuant to the requirements of the Act.

As previously shared, all schools (both public and private) were also scheduled to reopen during Phase 3. However, with Phase 3 starting so close to the end of the school year, I have decided that public schools will not reopen this academic year for our students.
I have further decided that the school term will end earlier for public school students to allow for additional school staff training, prior to school reopening in September 2020.
