Proclamation summoning both Houses

P R O C L A M A T I O N

By His Excellency the Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Bermuda.

WHEREAS in accordance with section 14(3) of the Constitution I, the Governor, have by Proclamation published in the Gazette, declared that a state of emergency exists in Bermuda;

AND WHEREAS section 14(4) of the Constitution provides that I, the Governor, shall, by Proclamation published in the Gazette, summon both Houses of the Legislature to meet within five days of the making of a Proclamation of emergency:

WHEREAS the World Health Organization has declared COVID-19 to be a global pandemic;

AND WHEREAS COVID-19 is an unprecedented and severe threat to public health in Bermuda: NOW THEREFORE in accordance with section 14(3) of the Constitution I, the Governor, acting after consultation with the Premier, declare that a state of emergency exists in Bermuda;

NOTICE OF EXEMPTIONS

 

In accordance with section 14(2) of the Summary Offences Act 1926, this Notice of Exemptions constitutes written permission for the following persons to be on the highways during the curfew hours specified in the Summary Offences (Curfew) (No 2) Order 2020:

1. Members of the Legislature.

2. The Cabinet Secretary, the Head of the Public Service, Permanent Secretaries, and staff of the Premier, Ministers and the Opposition Leader.

Whereas the Governor is satisfied that it is in the interests of public safety that the public should be kept off the highways at certain times, the Governor, in exercise of the power conferred by section 14(2) of the Summary Offences Act 1926 makes the following Order:

1   This Order may be cited as the Summary Offences (Curfew) (No 2) Order 2020.

Air Navigation (Fees for Certificates and Services) Regulations 2012

I, John Rankin, as the Governor of Bermuda in accordance with article 4(2) to the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) Order 2013 hereby exercise my power to make provisions supplemental to the Air Navigation (Fees for Certificates and Services) Regulations 2012 to the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority as the person designated under article 6(1) of the said Order to amend fees payable under those Regulations.
