COP28 2023

Deputy Premier and Minister of Home Affairs, the Hon. Walter H. Roban, JP, MP joined the Premier of Bermuda, the Hon. David E. Burt, JP, MP in representing Bermuda at COP28 2023 which was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 30 November – 12 December 2023.

Caribbean Overseas Territories Leader Meeting 2023

The Hon. Walter H. Roban, JP, MP, Deputy Premier and Minister of Home Affairs joined other Heads of Government from the United Kingdom Overseas Territories in the Caribbean to discuss issues of collective importance and to determine an action to address their challenges.

The Caribbean Overseas Territories Leader Meeting chaired by the Hon. Wayne Panton, Premier of the Cayman Islands was held in Miami, Florida on the 29 July 2023.

15th Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum (CREF) 2023

Deputy Premier and Minister of Home Affairs, the Hon. Walter H. Roban, JP, MP represented Bermuda at the 15th Caribbean Energy Forum (CREF) which was held in Miami Florida from 26-28 April 2023.

New Energy Events were the hosts of 'CREF' 2023 which is the largest annual gathering of the regional energy market. Eleven winners of its 5th Annual CREF Industry Awards which recognize excellence in projects, programs and people driving forward the clean energy transition in the Caribbean were honoured.

Joint Ministerial Council (JMC) 2023

Deputy Premier and Minister of Home Affairs, the Hon. Walter H. Roban, JP, MP joined the Premier, the Hon. David E. Burt, JP, MP at the 2023 Joint Ministerial Council (JMC) which was held in London from 14-16 November 2023.

The Joint Ministerial Council (JMC) which is held every year in London is hosted by the UK Government. It brings together political leaders and representatives from all of the Overseas Territories (OTs) as well as UK Ministers. it provides the principle forum for political dialogue and consultation between the UK and the Overseas Territories (OTs).

2023 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Summit

Deputy Premier and Minister of Home Affairs, the Hon. Walter H. Roban, JP, MP attended the 2023 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Summit which was held in New York from 18-19 September 2023.

Heads of State and Government met at the United Nations Headquarters in New York to review the implementation of the 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which was convened under the auspices of the President of the United Nation's General Assembly, during the UN's high-level week.

Caribbean Energies & Investment Summit (CEIS) 2023

Deputy Premier and Minister of Home Affairs, the Hon. Walter H. Roban, JP, MP was cordially invited to speak at the Caribbean Energies & Investment Summit (CEIS) 2023, held from the 1-3 November 2023 at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre in Bridgetown, Barbados.

"CEIS" 2023 was hosted by the Government of Barbados under the leadership of the Prime Minister of Barbados, the Honourable Mia Amor Mottley, SC., MP and Senator the Honourable Lisa Cummins, Minister of Energy and Business.

2nd Caribbean ESG and Climate Financing Summit

The Minister of Home Affairs, the Hon. Walter H. Roban, JP, MP was invited by New Energy Events to speak at the 2nd Caribbean ESG and Climate Financing Summit held on the 29 and 30 November 2022.

The event originally launched in 2021, brought together corporate, government and finance leaders. It was an opportunity for Minister Roban to share his initiatives in this area. 

First Regional Heads of Government Meeting in preparation for COP27

Deputy Premier and Minister of Home Affairs, the Hon. Walter H. Roban, JP, MP travelled to Nassau, Bahamas to participate in the First Regional Heads of Government Meeting in preparation for COP27. 

The meeting, held under the Chairmanship of The Bahamas Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis and in partnership with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) saw Heads of Governments and relevent stakeholders meet to begin the process of having a unified position on the agenda to be discussed in Egypt in November. 

Turks and Caicos Islands' Climate Change Summit and CREF 2022

The Minister of Home Affairs, the Hon. Walter H. Roban, JP, MP., was invited by the Department of Environment and Coastal Resources (DECR) under the Turks and Caicos Islands Government as the keynote speaker to address the Turks and Caicos Islands' Climate Change Summit which was hosted from 21-22 April 2022 on the Island of Providenciales.

Minister Roban was invited to participate and bring remarks on behalf of Bermuda as their work towards sustainability and climate resilience was recognised and commended.  

2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference "COP 26"

Deputy Premier and Minister of Home Affairs, the Hon. Walter H. Roban, JP, MP attended the "COP26" conference (which is short for the Conference of the Parties) held at the SEC Centre in Glasgow, Scotland as the representative on behalf of Bermuda.

Bermuda's participation was facilitated through the assistance of the Bermuda Government London Office and Government House.
