Minister Wilson COVID-19 Press Statement 22nd September 2020

Good Afternoon, 

Today there were 1117 test results received by the Ministry of Health, and one was positive for COVID-19. 

The new positive case is an imported case in a resident having arrived on BA 2233 on 16 September 2020. This case is also a close contact of a known case and has been quarantined since arrival.

Bermuda now has 181 total confirmed positive cases. Their status is as follows:

Good Afternoon, 

I hope you all made it through the hurricane with minimal discomfort or damage to your property. 

Today there were 818 test results received by the Ministry of Health, and one was positive for COVID-19. 

The new positive case is an imported case in a visitor who tested positive on their day 4 test having arrived on BA 2233 on 11 September 2020. The case is isolated and contact tracing has begun.

Bermuda now has 178 total confirmed positive cases. Their status is as follows:

Today there were 893 test results received by the Ministry of Health, and none were positive for COVID-19.

Bermuda has 177 total confirmed positive cases. Their status is as follows:

§  there are now 6 active cases, who are

§  all under active public health monitoring, and

§  none are hospitalized or in critical care;

§  a total of 162 have recovered,

§  the total deceased remains 9, and

The average age of all of our confirmed positive cases is 57 and the age range of all of our positive cases is from 10 to 101 years.

School Reopening 2020

The Department of Education has been working closely with the Department of Health over the past five (5) months to reopen schools responsibly.

Our priority is and will continue to be ensuring safe, healthy school environments for our staff and students.

As parents prepare to send their children to our schools, we want to reassure parents that we have planned carefully, intentionally and responsibly for the reopening of our schools.

COVID-19 update 8 September

Good Afternoon,

Between Sunday and today there were 2,140 test results received by the Ministry of Health, and two were positive for COVID-19. Both cases were contacts of known cases – one was a resident and one a visitor.

In a first for Bermuda, one of the positive cases was a child who had been quarantining with their parents, so the result was not unexpected. There is no public health risk as both cases were already quarantined before testing positive.

Bermuda has had 177 total confirmed positive cases. Their status is as follows:

Today there were 919 test results received by the Ministry of Health, and none were positive for COVID-19. 
 
Bermuda has had 175 total confirmed positive cases. Their status is as follows:

  • 158 have recovered, and
  • there are 8 active cases, who are
  • all under active public health monitoring;
  • none is hospitalized or in critical care, and
  • the total deceased remains 9.

Today there were 890 test results received by the Ministry of Health, and two were positive for COVID-19. Both new positives cases were close contacts of previously known cases. Contact tracing is underway.
