The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo (BAMZ) is one of the world's oldest aquariums, founded in 1926. Located on the waterfront in beautiful Flatts Village, the seven-acre facility is a top attraction for all ages and an important centre for science education, research, and species conservation.
The BAMZ mission is to inspire appreciation and care of island environments. That mission is fulfilled through animal habitat exhibits, which focus on species from oceanic islands, as well as related environmental education, conservation projects and research programmes.
BAMZ is owned and operated by the Government of Bermuda. It is the visitor and educational outreach centre of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. You can also bring in or report sick, emaciated and/or injured wildlife to the Wildlife Receipt Centre at BAMZ.
BAMZ is supported by a local charity, Bermuda Zoological Society (BZS), and a US charity, the Atlantic Conservation Partnership (ACP) and has been accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) since 1994.
