Personal Home Care Benefit

IMPORTANT UPDATE:  As of 01 July 2018 a new provider payment claim process is in place. See the HIP and FutureCare Personal Home Care Benefit Guide 2018 for more information.

The Personal Home Care Benefit assists FutureCare and HIP policyholders who qualify with the costs of personal care services in their home and reimburses registered caregiving providers for their services.

Personal care services include assistance with bathing and showering, dressing, self-feeding, personal hygiene and grooming.

To receive the benefit, HIP and FutureCare policyholders must have held a policy for at least one year, and be in good standing in terms of premiums and apply to the Health Insurance Department (see the HIP and FutureCare Personal Home Care Benefit Guide 2018 for more information and all forms).

Caregiving providers must be registered with Ageing and Disability Services in order for claims to be paid by this benefit.

The HIP and FutureCare Personal Home Care Benefit Guide 2018 includes all of the forms required to apply for the benefit or to register as a care provider, and contains more information about:
