CANCELLATION OF REGISTRATION

UNDER SECTION 41(1)(a)

The BERMUDA MONETARY AUTHORITY in exercise of the powers

conferred upon it by virtue of Section 41(1)(a) of the Insurance Act 1978,

(“the Act”), hereby cancels, at the request of the Insurer listed below,

the respective Class 3A Insurer registration granted

to the said Insurer under the Act, effective 19th April 2022: -

Burnaby Re Ltd.

Fisheries Seasonally Protected Areas

The Ministry of Home Affairs reminds commercial and recreational fishers that fishing in the Seasonally Protected Areas, also known as the “Hind Grounds” and “Grouper Grounds”, will be prohibited from 15 April through 14 August 2022 in order to protect spawning Red Hinds and Black Groupers.  Also note that while the Seasonally Protected Areas open on 15 August 2022, the Extended Closure Areas around important Black Grouper aggregations will remain closed to fishing until December 1, 2022.  See the below maps.
