Today the Minister of Health the Hon. Kim Wilson JP MP toured the call centre for the COVID-19 Information Hotline.
The Minister was accompanied by Project Manager Dean Parris who introduced her to the seven telephone operators who, between them, have fielded more than 100 calls since the call centre opened on Thursday morning.
Due to the impact of COVID-19 to Bermuda, the Ministry of Public Works advises the public on the operational status of departmental services.
All essential services within the Department of Works and Engineering are operating as per normal and the public will experience no change in service levels. This includes garbage collection and public access to the Tynes Bay Waste to Energy Facility,
As for the Department of Parks, effective immediately and until 6 April 2020, the department will operate in a limited capacity.
Over the past few weeks, The Ministry of Health has been heavily-focused on providing the public with accurate, reliable information regarding COVID-19.
Documents have been created for the public's information;
The Department of Marine and Ports Services is advising that public access to Gibbs Hill Lighthouse and the gift shop is closed and expected to reopen on April 6, 2020.
However, bearing in mind the present situation as it relates to COVID-19 and its impact on Bermuda, this period may be extended.
The public will be advised of any further changes.
To reduce the spread of COVID-19, the Transport Control Department (TCD) advises the public that the offices are closed to walk-in customers and alternative vehicle licensing procedures have been put in place.
Individuals required to renew their private vehicle licenses by March 31, 2020, can do so by following this two-step procedure:

Following the announcement I made earlier this evening of two confirmed cases of imported COVID-19 to Bermuda, the Covid-19 EMO was embodied at 7pm and the following decisions were made:
The LF Wade international airport will close for incoming passenger flights on Friday, March 20 at 11:59PM for the next two weeks. Non-residents will not be landed on the island from tomorrow. Only returning residents will be allowed on flights to Bermuda between tomorrow morning and Friday night. Cargo flights will not be affected.

We have called this press conference today to inform you that just two hours ago, the first diagnosed cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Bermuda.

The Minister of Labour, Community Affairs and Sports, the Hon. Lovitta F. Foggo, JP, MP announced today that the Government is working to provide an unemployment benefit for individuals who are out of work due to the economic impact of COVID-19.
Minister Foggo advised that a task force has been created to implement the unemployment benefit scheme.
The Department of Education issued the following letter to parents regarding steps currently being undertaken in Bermuda’s Public Schools to help the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
