Virtual Webinar Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases in the Hospitality Sector

The Ministry of Health is inviting persons in the hospitality industry to a virtual training webinar on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases in the Hospitality Sector on August 16, 2023.

The training session, presented by the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), provides an introduction to and the background of the Regional Tourism and Health Program (THP) and the various components and services it offers to the hospitality sector. It will also cover infectious diseases that can potentially impact the tourism sector as well as prevention and control methods.

“We are grateful to CARPHA for offering this free training for our local hospitality sector,” said Minister of Health, Kim Wilson, JP, MP. “Our hospitality industry places a high priority on health and safety and through this webinar attendees can take advantage of the opportunity to ask public health experts questions about health, infectious diseases, the THP program, and traveler safety. This session can increase knowledge and promote proactive measures for healthier and safer staff and travelers.”

This webinar is supported by Bermuda’s THP Committee, which also includes members from the Ministry of Tourism and Bermuda Tourism Authority. Participation in the training webinar contributes towards receiving CARPHA's Healthier Safer Tourism Award and the World Travel and Tourism Council Safe Travels Stamp.

Interested persons are encouraged to register by August 9, 2023 to ensure a space, although registration will remain open.
