Today the Minister of Health the Hon. Kim Wilson JP MP invited members of the public to complete the Bermuda Health Strategy Public Survey at www.forum.gov.bm as part of the community consultation to set Bermuda’s vision and strategy for health for 2020 - 2025.
The survey will be conducted and analysed by KPMG and is part of a rejuvenation of the Bermuda Health Strategy which will also include stakeholder consultation in the first quarter of 2020.
Minister Wilson said, "The Ministry of Health has commenced an update of the Bermuda Health Strategy 2020-2025. We want to make Bermuda healthier and, to do that, a shared vision for health is needed, one that inspires hope, trust and confidence across the community.
"As part of building that shared vision, public input is needed. Therefore, we are encouraging you - the public - to share your views about the current state of healthcare in Bermuda, and where you wish to see healthcare in Bermuda progress to in the future."
The survey will conclude on January 31, 2020.
NOTES FOR THE MEDIA
Distinction between the Health Strategy and the Bermuda Health Plan (BHP)
The Bermuda Health Strategy 2014 – 2019 is a 5-year strategy to address 14 broad health system goals, of which health financing reform and universal coverage are 2 goals.
The Bermuda Health Plan comes under the auspices of the broader strategy to address the 2 goals of health financing reform to improve access and sustainability in the health system.
The BHP is focused only on financing reform. The Strategy is focused on the broader health system including, for example, prevention and long term care.
