Public Health Week 2022

The Department of Health invites the public to participate in virtual and in-person events during Public Health Week, 4th - 8th April 2022.

“Public Health Week features several events as part of the Government of Bermuda’s initiative to promote healthy lifestyles,” said Minister of Health, Kim Wilson, JP, MP. “I encourage everyone to join the Department of Health’s panel discussion and workshop, and those persons interested in a career in public health should attend the Careers Fair.”

On Monday, April 4, the Department of Health will host a Virtual Panel Discussion on Health Equity in Bermuda: What does Bermuda need to do to build back better? Mr. David Kendell, Director Department of Health, will moderate this discussion from 12:30 – 1:30 pm.

On Wednesday, April 6, there will be a virtual wellness workshop from 12:30 – 1:45 pm entitled, ‘What’s your mental health story? An exploration of self-hood and steps forward.’ This workshop is facilitated by  Dr. Jana Outerbridge, DCounsPsych, the Founder of Mayvera Wellness

On Thursday, April 7, the Department of Health is holding a Careers in Public Health Fair at the City Hall in Hamilton from 10 am until 3 pm. Attendees can learn about and explore the various Careers in Public Health. There will be engaging and interactive booths, giveaways, prizes and more.

Also, on Thursday, April 7, the Public Health Awards will be on the steps of City Hall from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. Public Health Awards will recognise an individual and an organisation that has contributed to the success of public health during the COVID pandemic.
