On Monday 20 November, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, Owen Darrell, JP, visited the Harrington Workmen’s Club to attend the Club’s Community Forum.
Representatives from the Harrington Workmen’s Club, St. Mark’s Church, Harrington Sound School, and other groups gave presentations on their respective community initiatives and shared ideas on how increased sharing of resources and collaboration might be achieved.
The Minister remarked, “As the Minister responsible for Parish Councils and a member of the club, I found the meeting to be informative and encouraging.”
The attendees are very passionate about giving back to the community and that was evident in the energy and excitement during the forum.”
Grassroots programs are essential to the wellbeing of our neighborhoods and communities and even though the work that takes place behind the scenes is not always acknowledged, I want to reiterate my thanks and support.”
