The Economic Development Department today announced the nomination period for Bermuda’s best in technology in four categories: International Market Innovation, Local Market Innovation, Most Innovative Youth Project, and Most Innovative Mobile Application.
Popularly known as the TechAwards, persons can nominate individuals by visiting www.techawards.bm. Nominations will end on October 22nd.
Raymond Jones, Director of the Economic Development Department said, “Since 2007, the TechAwards, also known as the Bermuda Technology Innovation Awards, have celebrated the best Bermuda-based talent. Now more than ever, as Bermuda looks beyond the pandemic, we want to recognise those in the community who have helped, with technology solutions, the country to continue moving forward.”
Mr. Jones added, “The past year and a half has reminded us that studying, working, and playing remotely is more than just possible. Members of the public, both individuals and organisations, have proven that to be true. I look forward to getting to know this year’s innovators and to celebrating the positive impact of their work on our Island.”
At the close of the nominations period, nominees are carefully evaluated by the TechAwards Committee. Those that score highly on the pre-published criteria are then invited to present their technology solutions to a panel of judges who are known leaders in the local information technology industry.
Mr. Jones said, “We know of a multitude of ways that Bermuda-based talent has improved the way we live, work, learn and play through technology. Every year, the TechAwards allow us as a community to celebrate those that have made their mark. I encourage everyone enter nominations at www.techawards.bm.”
