• The Ministry of Public Works is advising that effective August 6, 2018, Blackwatch Pass will be closed to traffic so that construction works can be conducted. The closure will be for an extended period of time. While Blackwatch Pass is closed the public is encouraged to seek alternative routes to avoid delays.

MS Amblin World Triathlon Bermuda Elite Athletes

At the MS Amblin World Triathlon Bermuda Elite Athletes press conference today, the Minister of Social Development and Sports the Hon. Michael Weeks JP MP met with four Elite Athletes (Henri Schoeman, Vincent Luis, Flora Duffy and Rachel Klamer) competing in this weekend's World Triathlon Series in Bermuda.

Minister Weeks said, "We know that there are many superb triathlon athletes around the world. Here with us today are four of the very best that the sport of triathlon has to offer. I salute them all for training as hard as they do and tuning their bodies to perform at a very high level. They are exciting to watch, and are certainly an inspiration to the next generation of triathlon athletes!

"Now Bermudians will be able to witness firsthand the performance of our own World Triathlon champion Flora Duffy. Words cannot express the feelings of joy and exhilaration that we all feel as we witness history when our elite athlete Flora continues her quest to defend her title, right here in Bermuda. I wish all of the elite athletes a great race. This is your time to shine!

Also present at the press event was BTA CEO Kevin Dallas, Bermuda Triathlon Association President Steven Petty and the Chairman of World Triathlon Bermuda Phil Schmidt.
