The Ministry of Justice can confirm that Kevin Leon Goater has not yet been released from custody. He is scheduled to be released today, Thursday, 25 June 2026.
The date of release stated in a newspaper public notice as “May 2026” should have stated June 2026. The Ministry wishes to make clear that Mr Goater was not released in May.
A separate press release was not issued on this occasion because the approved public notification was published in full as a public notice in The Royal Gazette.
As the notice was issued publicly for the information of the wider community, a separate notification to schools was not required.
The Ministry can also confirm that the victim was notified in advance.
