Minister Meets with Health Boards

The Minister of Health, The Hon. Kim Wilson, JP, MP last evening met with over 100 members of the Ministry’s boards, councils and committees in an inaugural orientation meeting.

The Ministry of Health has 31 Boards under its remit to assist in the stewardship, regulation and oversight of the country’s health system. There are 16 boards and councils regulating health professionals, seven professional conduct committees, four tribunal/oversight committees and two Quangos.

Minister Wilson said, “We organized the meeting to provide our members with a deeper insight into the combined purpose and role of all health boards, and to understand the health system context within which their essential work is undertaken. I also took the opportunity thank the new and returning members for stepping forward and committing to work with the Ministry.”
