This statement is issued in respect of the articles printed in the Royal Gazette, titled “Alert over sex offender’s ‘court letter’, (Thursday, 24th October 2019 edition) and “Detectives investigate how sex offender got fraudulent document” (Saturday, 26th October 2019 edition). We wish to clarify that the civil servant named in both articles did not do anything fraudulent, as is alluded to in the said articles. The document in question was issued in error and additional administrative measures have been put into place to ensure that this does not reoccur.
