MINISTRY OF PUBLIC WORKS
ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 1947
EMERGENCY LANE CLOUSURE
MIDDLE ROAD, SOUTHAMPTON
NEAR RAILWAY TUNNEL AND FIVE STAR ISLAND
SATURDAY, 5th OCTOBER, 2019
The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that there will be a one-lane road closure on Saturday, 5th October to the West Bound Lane, on Middle Road Southampton near the Railway Tunnel west of Five Star Island.
This lane closure will commence at 10:00am and will continue until 4.00pm for the necessary works. There will be Stop and Go boards in place to manage traffic flow and advise detours to alert motorists to use alternative routes while this work takes place.
The lane closure is required so lose rock along the cliff face can be removed safely with our work crews. We also aim to carry out this work as quickly as possible to return the closed lane back to normal traffic use.
Bus Services
There will not be any disruption to bus services while these works take place, and bus patrons can use the bus stop locations as normal.
The Ministry of Public Works apologizes for any inconvenience for the road closures, and request that motorists cooperate with the traffic control devices in the area.
Should there be any questions regarding these closures please direct them to the attention of the Highways Construction and Maintenance Engineer, Mr. Curtis Charles on 501-3036.
