LARGE GROUP EXEMPTION:

BERMUDA NATIONAL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION

CROSS COUNTRY RACES

Whereas the Minister of National Security considers that the proposed Bermuda National Athletic Association – Cross Country Races is justifying an exemption from the prohibition in regulation 4 (1) and (2) of the Public Health (COVID-19 Emergency Powers) Regulations 2020 on groups of more than seventy-five persons assembling;

Now therefore, the Minister grants an exemption under regulation 4 (4) of those Regulations permitting a group of more than seventy-five persons to assemble on Saturday October 10, 2020 between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm at Astwood Park, South Road, Warwick Parish with the following conditions:

Conditions:

  1. All persons at the event must wear a face mask and maintain appropriate physical distancing at all times. (This will not apply to runners at start line waiting for race to start) 
  2. Maximum number of athletes   – 150
  3. Bermuda National Athletic Association to record names and contact details of event attendees for purpose of contact tracing. Information to be retained for a period of 28 days post-date of each race day. 
  4. Wearing of masks required when not seated or moving about the venue.
  1. Adherence to all relevant COVID 19 Health Guidelines as published by the Ministry of Health.
  1. The Ministry of National Security reserves the right to withdraw the permission to have more than seventy-five persons assembled at the event without notice to the organizer or cost to the Bermuda Government subject to the status of COVID 19 in the local community. 
  2. The Bermuda Police Service and/or the Ministry of National Security Officials have right to attend and observe for compliance to the conditions as set by the Minister.
