MINISTRY OF PUBLIC WORKS PAVING

MONDAY, AUGUST 8th, 2022 THROUGH FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 5th, 2022

 

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to notify the motoring public of the commencement of the long-awaited paving works to take place following the completion of the BELCO trenching projecton Fractious Street, Wilkinson Avenue and Harrington Sound Road.

The permanent asphalt reinstatement shall commence at Fractious Street, continue to Wilkinson Avenue on the eastbound lane and head west down Harrington Sound Road’s eastbound lane to the Government Quarry entrance. Thereafter, the paving works will switch to the westbound lane to head towards the BELCO substation on Paynter’s Road.

These paving works will require a single lane closure and will commence on Monday, August 8th, 2022 through to Friday, November 5th, 2022. Working hours will be from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm, weekly Monday through Friday.

Motorists are asked to avoid this section on Harrington Sound Road and to use alternative routes via North Shore Road for the duration of this trench work.

Traffic controls will be under the direction of Ministry of Public Works representatives and will be managed through traffic control signals and stop and go signs during rush hours.

Motorists are advised to drive cautiously past the paving sites and avoid speeding to protect the construction workers on site.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.
