P R O C L A M A T I O N
By His Excellency Mr John Rankin CMG, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Bermuda.
WHEREAS section 51(1) of the Constitution provides that a general election of Members of the House of Assembly shall be held at such time within three months after every dissolution of the Legislature as the Governor shall appoint by proclamation published in the Gazette;
AND WHEREAS under and in accordance with the provisions of section 49(1) of the Constitution the Legislature is dissolved with effect from 5:00 p.m. on Friday the 21st day of August, two thousand and twenty:
Governor and
Commander-in Chief
NOW THEREFORE I, the Governor, acting in accordance with the advice which I have received from the Premier, do hereby appoint the 1st day of October, two thousand and twenty, as the day on which a general election of Members of the House of Assembly shall be held.
Given under my hand and the Public Seal of Bermuda this 21st day of August, two thousand and twenty, in the sixty-ninth year of Her Majesty's Reign.
