BBA NATIONAL TIME TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIP RACE

SUNDAY, JUNE 19th, 2022

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the BBA National Time Trial Championship Race will take place on Sunday, June 19th, 2022 between the hours of 7:30 am and 10:00 am the following roads may be closed to all vehicular traffic.

CYCLE RACE ROUTE

Starting at Cooper’s Island Road then travel in a northerly direction to the Cooper Island Road Roundabout and then turn left onto Southside Road, travel in a westerly direction along Southside Road to the Westcott Road Roundabout, turn right and then travel in an easterly direction along Southside Road to Tommy Fox Road, travel in an easterly direction to the Pepper Hall Road, turn right and travel in a southerly direction to the Cooper Island Road Roundabout.  Repeat this lap as necessary, then travel in a southerly direction along Cooper Island Road, ending on Cooper Island Road.

TRAFFIC CONTROL: The bicycle race will commence on Sunday, June 19th, 2022 at 7:30 am and is expected to be concluded by 10:00 am. All motorists are expected to use caution and avoid collusion with race participants. The race route will be under Race Official control. Motorists are asked to follow Race Official instructions to assist with traffic control for this event.

ROAD CLOSURES: There will be no road closures to traffic while this bicycle race takes place, motorists are asked to use caution. They must also allow cyclists to participate and give way when directed by Police and Race Officials.

PARKING: There will be no parking restriction for this bicycle race, but motorists are permitted to park in designated parking bays along any part of the race route. Additionally, motorists must not block the race route or impede the participants in the bicycle race.

In addition, the Bermuda Police Service are hereby authorized to “Close-Off” streets or portions of streets and authorize parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.
