EXTENSION IV

WILKINSON AVENUE & HARRINGTON SOUND ROAD

HAMILTON PARISH

LANE CLOSURE

FOR

BELCO TRENCH WORK

EXTENSION CONTINUING THROUGH MONDAY, OCTOBER 31st, 2021

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that Harrington Sound Road trench work is to continue extending beyond Paynter’s Road to the BELCO substation in Hamilton Parish. The main trench work is nearing its end and will continue to require a one-lane closure along Wilkinson Avenue & Harrington Sound Road. Once trench work to the substation is completed, BELCO will then go back to Wilkinson Avenue and Harrington Sound Road to open the pull hole areas every 800 feet and pull their cables through.

This lane closure will continue through to Sunday October 31st, 2021. Working hours will be from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, weekly Monday through Sunday.

Motorists are asked to avoid this lane closure section on Harrington Sound Road and to use alternative routes via North Shore Road for the duration of this trench work.

Traffic controls will be under the direction of BELCO representatives and will be managed through traffic control signals and directional signs during rush hours.

Motorists are advised to drive cautiously past these wide construction areas and avoid speeding to protect themselves & construction workers on site.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.

Should there be any questions regarding these works, please direct queries to the attention of Jonathan Pedro, Project Manager for BELCO at 295-5111 ext. 1441 and for traffic control queries to the attention of Tina Beer-Searle, Civil Engineer Highways at 501-3044.
