FOR
BELCO TRENCH WORK - PHASE II
MONDAY MARCH 1ST, 2021 – MONDAY MARCH 8TH, 2021
The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the ongoing Harrington Sound Road trenching project in Hamilton Parish will require a full road closure to commence with Phase II (Harrington Sound Road from Devil’s Hole Hill to Middle Road in Flatts).
This road closure will be on Harrington Sound Road between Devil’s Hole Hill and Club Road and will be in effect day-and-night until the trench work has been completed, backfilled and paved.
This section of Harrington Sound Road will be temporarily closed to all traffic inclusive of buses. Access exceptions will be granted for those seeking access to residential units and pedestrians seeking to visit commercial properties such as the D&C Grill Restaurant, Herez Persian Rug Gallery and Harrington Workmen’s Club.
All parking stalls within this stretch of road on Harrington Sound Road will be temporarily closed and patrons are advised to utilize the Devil’s Hole Dock parking lot.
Motorists are asked to avoid this road closure section and to use alternative routes via Devil’s Hole and Knapton Hill for the duration of this trench work. Detour signs will be placed to indicate detour routes.
Traffic controls will be under the direction of BELCO and Ministry of Public Works representative and will be managed through traffic control signals and detour signs.
The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.
Should there be any questions regarding these works, please direct queries to the attention of Mr. Jonathan Pedro, Project Manager for BELCO at 295-5111 ext. 1441. Any queries on detour routes should be directed to Tina Beer-Searle, Civil Engineer Highways for Ministry of Public Works on 501-3044.
