Notice of Application Submission for a Licence Transfer and a Concentration Notification

Pursuant to Sections 30 and 21 of the Electricity Act 2016, the Regulatory Authority of Bermuda (“RA”) hereby gives notice that, an application has been made to the RA for the transfer of control of a Bulk Generation and Transmission, Distribution and Retail Licensee. A Bulk Generation Licence authorises the licence holder to engage in the bulk generation of electricity in Bermuda, while the Transmission, Distribution and Retail Licence authorises the licensee to engage in the transmission, distribution and retailing of electricity in Bermuda.

EXTENSION OF DURATION NOTICE

WHEREAS a proclamation was issued on 1 April 2020 under section 14(3) of the Constitution declaring that a state of emergency exists in Bermuda, which proclamation would cease to be in force at the expiration of a period of fourteen days, unless its continuance in force is extended by resolution of both Houses of the Legislature, in accordance with sections 14(5) and (6) of the Constitution;

Exemption for designated Public Officers

 

In accordance with paragraph 10 of Schedule 1 to the Emergency Powers (COVID-19 Shelter in Place) Regulations 2020, the following Public Officers are exempt from the curfew imposed by those Regulations, when on duty or travelling to and from duty.  Unless otherwise indicated, the exemption for each individual is for the period 7:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday to Friday.

By His Excellency the Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Bermuda.

WHEREAS in accordance with section 14(3) of the Constitution I, the Governor, have by Proclamation published in the Gazette, declared that a state of emergency exists in Bermuda;

AND WHEREAS COVID-19 is an unprecedented and severe threat to public health in Bermuda: NOW THEREFORE in accordance with section 14(3) of the Constitution I, the Governor, acting after consultation with the Premier, declare that a state of emergency exists in Bermuda;

NOTICE OF EXEMPTIONS

 

In accordance with section 14(2) of the Summary Offences Act 1926, this Notice of Exemptions constitutes written permission for the following persons to be on the highways during the curfew hours specified in the Summary Offences (Curfew) (No 2) Order 2020:

1. Members of the Legislature.

2. The Cabinet Secretary, the Head of the Public Service, Permanent Secretaries, and staff of the Premier, Ministers and the Opposition Leader.
