The Hon. Owen Darrell, Minister of Tourism & Transport, Culture & Sport, travelled to Chicago from 15–17 September for meetings focused on Bermuda’s air service and tourism connectivity. As part of the visit, Minister Darrell and a Bermuda delegation met with United Airlines’ Network Planning team at the airline’s headquarters on 16 September.

“This meeting was an opportunity to continue discussions on Bermuda’s air connectivity and explore opportunities that can support the growth of our tourism industry. We welcomed the opportunity to have constructive discussions with United Airlines and consider the opportunities ahead for Bermuda,” said Minister Darrell.

The meeting followed discussions held at Routes Americas in March 2026 and included consideration of United Airlines’ proposal for new service to Bermuda. Discussions also covered broader opportunities within United’s network.

Minister Darrell was joined by representatives of the Bermuda Tourism Authority, Bermuda Airport Authority and Skyport. The visit formed part of ongoing discussions with airline partners on opportunities to support Bermuda’s tourism industry.
