The Department of Workforce Development (DWD), in collaboration with Bermuda Connection, is launching the Hospitality Immersion Programme, an 11-week training initiative designed to introduce individuals aged 18 to 30 to career opportunities across Bermuda’s hotel industry.
The programme is open to Bermudians and spouses of Bermudians who are unemployed, underemployed, or genuinely interested in pursuing a career in hospitality.
Beginning on 7 December 2026, the programme will combine one week of in-person work readiness training with 10 weeks of structured placement in a Bermuda hotel. The pilot cohort will accommodate up to 10 participants, each of whom will receive a certificate upon successful completion.
Participants will explore the wide range of career pathways available within the hotel industry, extending beyond traditional front-of-house roles to include reservations, sales and marketing, human resources, accounting, training and development, recreation, conventions and facilities management.
The Minister of Economy and Labour, the Hon. Jason P. Hayward, JP, MP, said: “Bermuda’s hospitality industry offers a wide range of career opportunities, many of which young people may not be aware of. This programme will give participants valuable insight into the industry, help them develop essential workplace skills and connect them with hotel employers and hospitality professionals. It is an opportunity to explore a career path while preparing for future employment.”
Applications open on Monday, 2 November 2026, and close on Friday, 20 November 2026. An information session will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, 5 November 2026, at the Department of Workforce Development Training Room to provide prospective applicants with more information about the programme and application process.
Following the programme, participants will continue to receive support from DWD as they work towards securing employment.
