COVID-19 Update Minister of Health's Remarks 13 July 2021

Thank you Premier, and good evening everyone.

The Ministry of Health received 7733 test results since the last update, and four (4) were positive for COVID-19. This gives a test positivity rate of 0.05%. 

These results are from testing done on the following dates:

·         Thursday, July 8: 2 positive out of 2050 results (0.1% positivity)

·         Friday, July 9: 1 positive out of 1923 results (0.1% positivity)

·         Saturday, July 10: 0 positive out of 1950 results (0.0% positivity)

Cricket Update

The Ministry of Youth, Culture and Sport clarified that SafeKey remains in effect for League and County cricket games, however under revised parameters. 

Late this week, Minister Ernest Peets attended a meeting concerning local cricket. The Minister listened to the concerns and feedback shared regarding the resumption of League and County cricket games. 

COVID-19 Update - Premier's Remarks on 3 June 2021

Good evening Bermuda,

I begin by extending my heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Government and the people of Bermuda to two families who experienced great loss over the Bermuda Day weekend. Firstly to the family of Amber Bridges who tragically passed after a serious road accident. And also to the family of the 33rd person we have lost to the coronavirus. You are in our thoughts and in our prayers, and we wish you much strength and comfort during this very difficult time.

COVID-19 Update - Minister of Health Remarks on 3 June 2021

Thank you Premier, and good evening everyone.

The Ministry of Health received 1226 test results since the last update, and none were positive for coronavirus. This gives a test positivity rate of 0.0%. 

Additionally, since the last update, there were two (2) recoveries and no deaths.

There are currently 17 active cases, of which;

·           16 are under public health monitoring and;

·           One (1) is in the hospital, with none (0) in intensive care.

COVID-19 Daily Release 31 May 2021

The Ministry of Health received 5816 test results since the last update, and three were positive for COVID-19. This gives a test positivity rate of 0.05%. 

These results are from testing done on Wednesday  (three positive out of 1327 results (0.2% positivity), Thursday (0 positive out of 1660 results (0.0% positivity)), Friday (0 positive out of 1434 results (0.0% positivity)) and Saturday (0 positive out of 1395 results (0.0% positivity)).

Additionally, there were 13 recoveries and one death which occurred over the weekend.

COVID-19 Daily Release 26 May 2021

The Ministry of Health received 1712 test results since the last update, and one (1) was positive for coronavirus. This gives a test positivity rate of 0.1%.  The new case is classified as imported by a resident who arrived on Jet Blue B61731 from New York on 20 May 2021 and tested positive on their day four test.

Additionally, since the last update, there were seven recoveries and no deaths.

There are currently 36 active cases, of which;
• 34 are under public health monitoring and;
• Two (2) are in the hospital, with one (1) in intensive care.

COVID-19 Update - Premier's Remarks 25 May 2021

Good evening Bermuda,

This week as we plan to celebrate our island, our heritage and our history on Bermuda Day we can also take pride in the progress we are making against the coronavirus and our collective work to move beyond the pandemic together. Our goals remain to be able to eliminate local transmission, protect our country from dangerous variants, and continue to progress our vaccination programme. There is still work to be done to reach and maintain those goals.

The Ministry of Health received 927 test results since the last update, and none were positive for coronavirus. This gives a test positivity rate of 0.0%. 

Additionally, since the last update, there were 15 recoveries and no deaths.

There are currently 42 active cases, of which;

·           40 are under public health monitoring and;

·           Two (2) are in the hospital, with one (1) in intensive care.
