Today is International Nurses Day. As such, the Minister of Health the Hon. Kim Wilson JP MP recorded a brief video message to mark the day and to thank all of Bermuda's nurses for their dedication the profession and to the people of Bermuda, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Between Sunday and today there were 469 test results received by the Ministry of Health; and 1 was positive for COVID-19. I am, however, deeply saddened to say that we lost another person to COVID-19 over the weekend. As is the norm, details of this individual won’t be made public by the Ministry to respect the family’s right to privacy, especially at this difficult time.

During the virtual session of the House of Assembly on 8 May 2020, the following changes to the Emergency Powers (COVID-19 Continuing Precautions) Amendments Regulation 2020 were confirmed by Premier, the Hon. David Burt, JP, MP.
Marriages and domestic partnerships can now take place with no more than ten people, including the officiant, in attendance;
Clarity was given around SCUBA diving. It is prohibited during Phase One; and
Today there were 166 test results received by the Ministry of Health. None were positive for COVID-19.

To protect the health and safety of Bermuda, the Government has implemented an aggressive COVID-19 testing regime. To further achieve that objective the Government of Bermuda is offering free PCR and antibody testing to the general public beginning tomorrow, Saturday, May 9th between the hours of 2-7 pm at the Southside Drive-through Testing Facility.

*15 persons are hospitalized.
