The City of Hamilton is responsible for administering all aspect of the City. Services include, garbage collection, street sweeping, maintaining the seven Hamilton parks and the collection of City taxes.
The nine-member Corporation of Hamilton has a Mayor, and eight Common Councillors, and is elected every three years to administer the City of Hamilton under the authority vested in it by the Legislature.
