Established in 1974 under the Bermuda Archives Act, we are responsible for preserving, organizing, and providing access to Bermuda’s documentary heritage for present and future generations. Our knowledgeable Reading Room team is available to assist you with your research needs.
Available Services:
- On-site access to original archival records in the Reading Room
- Digitized PDFs of selected registers and guides
Our Holdings:
The Archives’ collections span nearly 400 years of Bermuda’s history and include a wide range of records, such as:
- Legislative records
- Parish records
- Probate records
- Slave registers
- Maps, plans, and charts
- Paintings and photographs
- Journals
- Records of the Corporations of Hamilton and St. George’s
- Anglican, Methodist, and Presbyterian church records
