Nominations Open for Bermuda Sports Awards

The Ministry of Youth, Culture and Sport is pleased to announce the return of the Bermuda Sports Awards in March 2022, and nominations are now open.

The Minister of Youth, Culture and Sport, Dr. Ernest Peets said, “Despite the challenges that Bermuda's athletes have faced due to the effects of the pandemic, the island has witnessed some incredibly inspiring performances in a number of sporting areas. We are pleased to be able to celebrate their accomplishments with the return of the Bermuda Sports Awards.”

The Bermuda Sports Awards look to recognise the distinguished achievements of these Bermudians and invite submissions in seven main categories.  

Nominations are open for recognition in: 

· Participation and achievement at a high standard of performance in international competition.

· Persons who have made contributions to the development and advancement of sport in a non-competitive capacity.

· Special distinction in sport – recognition of those athletes who have achieved special status or distinction in sport.

· Senior and Junior Male and Female Athlete of the Year.

Minister Peets added, “We would like to encourage the public to submit their nominations in support of our athletes, who have done an excellent job at representing Bermuda during an unprecedented time for sports.”
