Ministry of Home Affairs Sponsors Free Screening of Shark Country at Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute

Shark Country Free Screening

The Ministry of Home Affairs is proud to announce its sponsorship of a free screening of Shark Country at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI). This exciting event, free for the public, will take place on Tuesday, 1st October 2024, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Tradewinds Auditorium.

As part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness about marine life conservation, this screening will focus on sharks and their importance to Bermuda's delicate ocean ecosystems.

Shark Country delves into the disappearance of Bermuda’s sharks, which were once a common sight on the reef. Hear the experience of the late Teddy Tucker, a renowned salvage diver, shipwreck explorer, and originally a fisherman at heart, shared alongside other fishermen and divers who have witnessed the deterioration of Bermuda's marine environment, an insight gained through years of regular free diving and scuba diving on the island's reefs.  These stories provide insight into the loss of sharks in Bermuda's waters and their essential role in maintaining our oceans' health.

Space is limited, with only 148 seats available, and attendees are encouraged to reserve their spots early to ensure participation in this event.
