Ministry of Health and Seniors announces U.K. guacamole recall

The Ministry of Health and Seniors is advising the public about recalled guacamole from the United Kingdom due to the possible presence of salmonella. If consumed these products could pose a serious risk to human health.

The following are recalled, with sell by dates up to and including 2 July:

Tesco Guacamole

Weight: 163.0 g

Waitrose Guacamole

Weight: 200.0 g

Waitrose Guacamole Reduced Fat

Weight: 200.0 g

Waitrose Dip Tex Mex Trio

240.0 g

These were distributed to local retailers selling Tesco and Waitrose brands and any unsold product has been returned by them. However products already sold to consumers may still be in refrigerators across the island.

Anyone who may have consumed packaged guacamole from the U.K. and is feeling unwell is advised to seek medical advice immediately.  Recalled foods found with matching identification should be disposed of or returned to the retailer for disposal and a refund.
