Deadline for Bermuda Day Parade Entries

Heritage Month is a mere three-weeks away, and the Department of Culture is reminding those who intend on participating in the Bermuda Day Parade that entries are now being accepted via Bermuda Day – Department of Culture.

A Department spokesperson said, “Bermuda Day kicks off our summer events in earnest, and this year we are once again ecstatic to host the Bermuda Day Parade, which will take place along the streets of Hamilton. Last year, the Bermuda Day Parade was one of the most attended events in this post pandemic era, and we are looking to build upon last year’s participation and attendance levels.

“We expect to have participation from our iconic gombeys, energetic dance troupes, drum lines, vibrant floats and our majorettes. But we’re still looking for as much representation and participation as possible from those interested in joining the parade. We want this to be the best and biggest event yet.”

All applications for the Bermuda Day Parade are due on Friday, April 21, 2023.

The spokesperson concluded, “The theme of Heritage Month is A Bermudian Renaissance, and we chose this theme because we recognised that Bermudians have always had to be resourceful. Our artists have always redefined Bermuda’s creative offerings, whether it’s public art, spoken word, or music and dance. This Heritage Month, we look with a renewed interest at the talents and identities that continue to shape and evolve our national identity. And we want participants to show us their interpretation of A Bermudian Renaissance. Let’s all join in celebrating our signature event next month.”
