Condolences to the entire Woolridge family

A genuine public servant and a giant of this community…” said Premier the Hon. E. David Burt, JP, MP who today reflected on the news that the Hon. C. V. “Jim” Woolridge CBE, JP has passed. Premier Burt who is on vacation abroad with his family paused to remember the service of Mr. Woolridge who he said, “through his own strength of character came to symbolize the era over which he presided in Bermuda’s tourism”.

Acting Premier and Minister of Public Works, Lt. Col. the Hon. David A. Burch, JP, MP said: “On behalf of the Government and people of Bermuda I wish to express sincere condolences to the entire Woolridge family. Bermuda celebrates his life and legacy that extended beyond politics into a significant broadcast career that made sure that his voice was heard and appreciated in every home.”

The Cabinet Office advised that a Book of Condolence for public signing would be available at the Cabinet Office, 105 Front Street, from Thursday, 30th August 2018 until the day before Mr. Woolridge’s funeral, between the hours of 10am and 4pm. Col. Burch added: “As a mark of respect I have approved the flying of flags at half-mast on all Government buildings today and again on the day of Mr. Woolridge’s funeral.
