Bermudians Encouraged to Apply for the DWD 2023 Graduate Trainee Program

The Ministry of Economy and Labour is pleased to advise that the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) is now accepting applications for the 2023 Graduate Trainee Programme.

The success of this programme continues, with the three Graduate Trainee Programmes held thus far providing thirty-three (33) recent college/university graduates with coaching, employability skills training and one-on-one support to develop their personal brand. Participants also have the opportunity to gain industry experience in their area of study.

On completing the programme, participants go on to complete a ten-week work placement sponsored by the Department of Workforce Development to assist with transitioning into their careers.

Minister of Economy and Labour, the Honourable Jason Hayward, JP, MP, said, "This Government is committed to the continued execution of Bermuda's Economic Development Strategy, of which Strategic Priority no. 5, "People”, includes the strategic initiative focussed on executing the Youth Employment Strategy. To that end, the Graduate Trainee Programme is among many initiatives that address unemployment by facilitating opportunities to support young Bermudian's transition from the classroom into the workplace. I am thrilled with the ongoing success of this programme, which exemplifies this Government's commitment to supporting our youth throughout their education in pursuit of their career goals and developing our future leaders."
