The Ministry of Health successfully hosted the 2026 Breakout & Thrive Youth Mental Health Summit, bringing together approximately 570 students from Bermuda's middle and senior schools for three days of learning, engagement, and personal growth.

Held from 13-15 October at Warwick Camp, the summit centred on the theme "THIS IS MY PLACE," encouraging young people to explore belonging, self-expression, resilience, and emotional well-being.

The annual event featured 21 interactive workshops led by local and international facilitators. Students participated in discussions and activities focused on mental health, healthy relationships, self-confidence, communication, digital responsibility, and coping skills.

Minister of Health, the Hon. Kim Wilson, JP, MP, welcomed students throughout the event and reaffirmed the Government's commitment to supporting the mental health and well-being of Bermuda's young people.

Minister Wilson said, "Breakout & Thrive creates opportunities for young people to build confidence, develop healthy connections, and learn skills that support their overall well-being. By investing in programmes such as this, we are helping to ensure our young people feel supported, valued, and empowered to thrive."

The Ministry thanks Bermuda's schools, counsellors, teachers, administrators, facilitators, volunteers, and sponsors for their contributions to the success of this year's summit. Special appreciation is extended to the Royal Bermuda Regiment, Johns Barritt & Son, DESH Bermuda, Umin Design, and AD Hoc Systems for their support.

Breakout & Thrive has become an important part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to promote youth mental health and create safe spaces where young people can learn, connect, and grow.
