Today, the Ministry of Economy and Labour released the Department of Statistics’ March 2026 Consumer Price Index (attached).

Today, the Ministry of Economy and Labour released the Department of Statistics’ March 2026 Consumer Price Index (attached).

In summary, consumers paid 2.4 per cent more in March 2026 than they did a year ago for the basket of goods and services included in the Consumer Price Index [CPI]. This level of inflation increased 0.3 percentage points from the February 2026 annual inflation rate. Some highlights for March 2025 to March 2026 include:

  1. The Health & Personal Care division increased 4.5 per cent.
  2. The Transport & Foreign Travel division rose 4.7 per cent.
  3. The Food division increased 2.9 per cent.
  4. The Education, Recreation, Entertainment & Reading division increased 2.5 per cent.
  5. The Rent division advanced 1.3 per cent.

Between February 2026 and March 2026, the average cost of goods and services increased 0.3 per cent. Additional areas of note between February 2026 and March 2026 were as follows:

  1. The Transport & Foreign Travel division increased 1.8 per cent.
  2. The Food division rose 0.6 per cent.
  3. The Rent division increased 0.1 per cent.
  4. The Education, Recreation, Entertainment & Reading division increased 0.2 per cent.
